Privacy Policy — Easy PDF

TL;DR: Your PDF and image files are processed on your device and are never uploaded to RockingCoders. The free plan shows Google AdMob ads (labeled native ads on Home and Tools, plus an optional rewarded ad for an extra daily PDF action). Pro removes ads. The app uses Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics, crash reports, and optional update notifications. The internet permission is for those Google services and ads — never to upload your documents.

This page is the privacy policy for Easy PDF (com.rockingcoders.easypdf), published by RockingCoders. Debug and release builds share that package name. It does not cover our other apps. Those are described at the main RockingCoders privacy policy.

1. Who we are

2. Data collection

There is no Easy PDF account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, location, or contacts.

Your documents are never sent to our servers. We have no cloud copy of your PDFs or images, and no file name, page content, or extracted text is ever included in anything the app sends.

The app includes Google Firebase, which collects the following on our behalf when the Play/Firebase configuration is present:

• Firebase Analytics — which screens and tools are opened, whether a tool run finished or failed, whether the paywall was shown or dismissed, whether a purchase flow started, whether an optional rewarded ad was shown or completed, and how many free PDF actions were used that day, plus the app version, device model, coarse region, and a resettable Google Analytics app instance ID. We use this to see which tools are worth improving and which ones are breaking. The name, contents, and location of your files are never part of an event.
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reports: the stack trace, app version, Android version, and device model.
• Firebase Remote Config — downloads the minimum supported app version so we can ask you to update a build with a known data-loss bug, the number of free PDF actions allowed per day, and the daily cap on extra actions from rewarded ads.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — off unless you turn on “Product updates” in Settings. No messaging token is created until you opt in, and turning the switch off unsubscribes you again.

If you email us for support, we receive the address and whatever you choose to send. We use that only to reply and to fix the issue.

3. How files are processed

Merge, split, compress, annotate, OCR, scan, and other tools run locally on your device using on-device libraries (PdfBox-Android and ML Kit Text Recognition).

• Temporary files stay in app cache and are cleaned up
• Output is saved where you choose (Downloads, a folder you pick, or a document you create)
• We do not upload files to a RockingCoders backend

4. Network and Google services

PDF editing itself never needs the internet. The app requests the internet permission for these Google libraries:

• Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging — described in section 2. Data goes to Google as our processor and is retained for up to 14 months (Analytics) or 90 days (Crashlytics).
• Google Play Billing — only if you buy or restore the optional one-time Pro unlock. Purchase handling is done by Google Play. We store an unlock flag on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.
• ML Kit Text Recognition — OCR runs on the device. Google Play services may download an on-device model. Your page images are not sent to RockingCoders.
• ML Kit Document Scanner — optional Scan to PDF helper provided by Google Play services; processing is on-device.
• Play In-App Review — may contact Google Play if you are asked to rate the app.
• Google AdMob — on the free plan only. Native ads on Home and Tools, and an optional rewarded interstitial if you choose to watch an ad for one extra PDF action after today’s free limit. Pro users never load ads. Google may use the advertising ID, IP address, coarse location, device and app data, and (in the EEA/UK after consent) data for personalized ads. See Google’s privacy policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not send your PDFs, images, file names, or extracted text to AdMob.

Those services are operated by Google under Google’s privacy policy.

5. Permissions

• Storage (older Android only): read/write files you choose. On current Android the app uses the system file picker (Storage Access Framework) instead of broad media access.
• Camera (optional): Scan to PDF only. You can refuse it and still use the rest of the app.
• Internet: Firebase, Google Play services, and AdMob. Never used to upload your documents.
• Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob on the free plan. You can reset or limit it in Android settings. Pro does not request ads.
• Notifications (optional): requested only when you switch on “Product updates” in Settings.

5a. Opting out

Turn off “Product updates” in Settings to stop push notifications. Analytics and crash reporting are part of the Play Store app and stay on while the app is installed. To remove local app data, clear storage or uninstall. For deletion of support email you sent us, see section 8.

5b. Ads and consent

Ads appear only for free users and are labeled. They are not shown inside the PDF viewer. Rewarded ads are optional: you tap a button on the paywall; they are never forced. In the EEA, UK, and other regions that require it, Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for consent before personalized ads. You can decline personalized ads and still use the app.

Easy PDF is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not serve ads designed for children.

6. What stays on your device

• Recent-file shortcuts (URIs), history, and settings
• Pro unlock status
• Temporary cache created while processing

Clear history in the Files tab, clear cache in Settings, or uninstall / clear app data in Android settings.

7. Children’s privacy

Easy PDF is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

We do not keep a personal data profile for Easy PDF. To remove local data, clear storage or uninstall. To delete a support email you sent, write to rockingcoders62@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my email.”

9. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The date at the top will change.
